Santiago Compostela

Internationally famous city as one of the most important destinations of Christian pilgrimage in the world, Santiago de Compostela is capital of the autonomous community of Galicia and World heritage by UNESCO, housing also one of the biggers Universities in Spain.

On this tradition, dating back to the city foudation founded in the ninth century, there is the cathedral of Santiago, sé the homonymous Archdiocese built between 1075 and 1128, in a Romanesque style, during the Crusades and the Christian Reconquista. After that period, it suffered several reforms with Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque elements, housing the tomb of James the Greater, one of the apostles of Jesus Christ
